This course will deal with controversial, taboo and difficult questions concerning Islam within the modern world. Also, it will help to breakdown these apparently difficult questions and remove the underlying misconceptions which cause unnecessary doubt and confusion. Some of the questions to be explored include those below.
God & Religion Questions
• Where is your proof of God?
• Is God a myth?
• Is God evil? Why is there so much evil in the world?
• Why are the majority of the world non-believers?
Gender, Sexuality & Societal Questions
• Can you have Islamic feminism?
• Are homosexuals accepted in Islam?
• Why did Islam not completely abolish slavery?
Prophet Muhammad & the Islamic tradition
• Does the Quran and hadith contradict human reason?
• How can you accept miracles? Is that not unscientific?
• Does Islam believe in continual warfare and terrorism?
Open to all brothers and sisters and available online.
All participants will be provided access to over twelve hours of pre-recorded classes to study at their leisure. This will culminate in a day-long live session to deal with any remaining questions that arise over the duration of the course.
A live online and onsite session will be available on Sunday 21 July from 2 pm -7 pm on-site and online and recordings will be made available thereafter.

Online Students will have access to the recorded session for a short period of time if you are not able to attend live.
To understand Islam and philosophy in the way that this course has enabled me to, is something that I will value forever; especially as it exposes the reasons behind society's current state and how it became what it is today.
Usually when I answer questions posed by my friends, I wouldn't answer them but now I feel as though I can answer such questions about my faith with more confidence and depth.
The course helped to consolidate my faith and develop my spiritual awareness. I now understand how best to deal with questions that are posed to us in the wider community.

The topic on the ‘controversial’ questions about Islam is very relevant in this day and age, and something which I felt I had to attend.
I learned how to deal with complex questions and theories. Not only did I learn answers, but I learned how to deal with all types of questions.
